OREGON CITY, Ore. -- A woman accused of driving under the influence had her bail set at $50,000 on Thursday. The high bail came after a Clackamas County prosecutor said Meagan Harper had a blood alcohol level of 0.55 percent -- nearly seven times the legal limit -- while she was behind the wheel.A 0.55 percent blood alcohol level is so high that it's considered lethal. An emergency room physician said it's been more than five years since he treated anyone who had reached Harper's degree of intoxication.Harper, who was found passed out in her car on the night the 0.55 percent was recorded, spoke quietly to her attorney as deputies handcuffed her, but she didn't comment on the judge's decision to jail her.Harper has drunken driving convictions in Washington and Multnomah counties. She was also convicted of operating a boat while intoxicated in Wasco County. The prosecutor said Harper is an "extraordinary danger" to the community.
