CANBY, Ore. -- A woman died when her car collided with a semitrailer near Canby on Friday.

State police said the semitrailer tried to turn left from a truck lot to go northbound on Highway 99E.

But a southbound car driven by Cynthia Trevino-Williams, of Grande Ronde, was unable to stop in time.

Her car became wedged under the trailer and Trevino-Williams died at the scene of the crash, police said.

The collision happened at about 3:30 p.m. near milepost 17 of Highway 99E between Canby and Oregon City.
