Evergreen High Cancels Classes After Threat

UPDATED: 10:40 am PST February 4, 2008

A bomb threat led Evergreen High School to cancel classes Monday.

The school district said an employee found a note taped to a door that claimed there was a bomb at the school.

Police said they found a suspicious device at the school, but they determined it wasn’t explosive.

The Metro Explosive Disposal Unit responded to the school to conduct a search.

Students arriving to class Monday morning were being diverted to McKenzie Stadium or Cascade Middle School.

Because Vancouver police wanted to conduct a thorough sweep of the school, the district canceled classes for the day. All students and staff were sent home while police searched each classroom individually Monday morning.
