HILLSBORO, Ore. -- A boy and his mother warned potential customers of a Hillsboro hair salon Saturday after they said a stylist dug her fingernails into the boy’s head.Devin Grosser and his mother said they went to Great Clips at the Hillsboro Promenade Shopping Center last week for a haircut. While he was a regular at the hair salon, he sat down with a stylist he had never seen before.Grosser said the hair stylist became upset with him for moving around in the chair. He said the stylist dug her nails into his head, pulled a fistful of hair and shook his head around. She then whispered into his ear, telling him he better sit still, or else, according to Grosser.
His mother filed a police report, but Hillsboro police said it’s his word against the word of the stylist’s, and there’s nothing they can do.Great Clips issued the following statement to FOX 12:
We are aware that a recent incident may have occurred at our salon that caused the discomfort of a young customer by one of our stylists. We are actively gathering more information about the situation. We appreciate that the mother of the customer was standing at the styling station to oversee the transaction and we also appreciate her bringing the situation to our attention. Our stylist training is rigorous and our stylists treat every customer with exceptional care. We regret if we caused this particular customer discomfort. The spokesperson didn’t specify if the stylist will face disciplinary action.
