State and federal agents are investigating the moving company Morton Van Lines, authorities from the Oregon Attorney General's Office said Thursday.

Kelli Hopp, a local woman who hired Morton Van Lines to deliver her furniture last month, said she still hasn't received her belongings.

Instead she received an e-mail containing pictures of her furniture in a storage unit in New Mexico.

Earlier this week, Hopp received an e-mail from Morton Van Lines telling her that they are going out of business and that all of her stuff is in a storage unit in New Mexico.

Hopp called the storage unit herself to get visual proof.

She said she’s decided to hire a new moving company to pick up her things from New Mexico, and she wants to warn others about Morton Van Lines.

"That was my main objective, to get this out so people understood and were aware of the crime out there. It was a big eye-opener for me. I just want to get my story out and help other people as well," Hopp said.

The state Attorney General's Office confirmed that there is an active investigation on Morton Van Lines, and they are looking for the owner of the company.

KPTV learned that Morton has five storage units in Sherwood filled with customer goods.

Sherwood police gave no comment but are currently investigating the case.
