TUALATIN, Ore. -- Three teenagers set fire to a railroad track in Tualatin on Saturday afternoon.Two railroad ties were smoldering when officers responded to the tracks, located near Southwest Gram Street, at 1:45 p.m.Police said they first received the report when a concerned neighbor reported smoke coming from the tracks behind his house.Police said the railroad tracks are surrounded by dense bush and trees that can catch fire. Firefighters responded to extinguish any hot spots Saturday.Officers found the three teenagers running from the area after they found the fire.The teens admitted to starting the fire and watching it burn for about an hour. They have been referred to the Washington County Juvenile Department on charges of arson, criminal trespassing, reckless burning and criminal mischief.A Portland Western Railroad official estimated the damage to the tracks at about $1,000.
