There are foreclosures around the country, but some Oregon homes up for sale have price tags more like Beverly Hills than Portland.

FOX 12 checked real estate data to find the top five most expensive houses in the state.

A coastal home in Gold Beach came in with the highest price tag of all at $16.5 million.

The Villa Teresa in Lake Oswego will cost buyers $7.5 million. And its guest house is No. 3 on the list for almost as much -- $6.3 million.

But the bargain on the list is No.4 -- Paradise Hill, an estate in Turner. The 22,000-square-foot home near Salem is up for sale at $5.9 million.

The house has an indoor pool with a retractable roof, a two-lane bowling alley and a shower with gold-plated fixtures. The bedroom features automatic drapes and a 6-foot TV screen. There are also $25,000 crystal chandeliers in the hallway closets.

The real estate agent said it’s a bargain because the latest owner lost it to the bank in foreclosure.

A big income is required not just for the house, but the $30,000 per month mortgage and the $10,000 per month maintenance cost.

Realtor Pat Jay insists there will be a buyer.

“There’s a lot of people in Oregon who could buy it and I’ve talked to a lot of them,” he said.

The last house in the top five, a 10,000-square-foot home on the Willamette River, is still in progress and up for sale at $5.9 million.

It has room for a small basketball court in case a Portland Trail Blazer wanted to buy it. The massive master suite features a gym, a hobby room, three fireplaces and a walk-in closet.

While many Oregonians said they lean more toward the practical purchase, Realtor Mary Jo Avery said buying big can be practical for those who can afford it.

“People are spending more on their real estate. It’s solid, it’s there in the morning,” Avery said. “Why not buy something like this now and share it with your family and have years of enjoyment and happiness?”
