GRESHAM, Ore. -- Jarrod Vanausdell and Taryn Metko are months away from walking down the aisle together, but the couple is having a hard time focusing on wedding plans.Thieves broke into their home the morning after St. Patrick’s Day. Sometime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., the burglars took a wallet, a watch, a purse, keys and the couple’s 2000 Ford Mustang.By the time Vanausdell and Metko could cancel their credit cards, the thieves hit several gas stations in Vancouver and Battle Ground. In about two hours, they ran up $700 at the gas stations. The victims believe the burglars had gas cans with them to fill up more than one car.
“On my credit card, the (gas) pump shut off at $100,” Vanausdell said. “Then they put the card back in and did another $60.”The couple’s friends were sleeping on couches near the door, but they didn’t wake up during the burglary. The 2000 Ford Mustang is red with a license plate of XVP 460. If you have any information, call the Gresham Police Department.
