LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Metro police were investigating a fatal double shooting Thursday that they said is connected to an incident at the University of Louisville.Around 9:15 a.m. Thursday, officials from the University of Louisville issued a safety alert when a woman held a counselor at gunpoint in the health services building, WLKY-TV in Louisville.University police disarmed the woman.Around 9:20, Metro police said they got a call from campus police instructing them to check the welfare of some children at a home.
When officers arrived, they found two children shot to death inside.Investigators weren't releasing the names of anyone involved."The homicide unit is investigating," said Metro Police Detective Phil Russell. "There's many facts surrounding this case that they are trying to piece together at this time.""I'm devastated," said neighbor Dorothy Maymon. "I can't imagine that something like that would happen. It's like I say, I didn't know them well, but she always seemed like a sweet person. Must've been something happened that triggered such an act."
