Couple Charged In Fake Craigslist Ad

POSTED: 5:59 pm PDT April 1, 2008
UPDATED: 6:55 pm PDT April 1, 2008

Medford police arrested a man and woman they said are responsible for a Craigslist posting that left a man the victim of dozens of unintentional thefts.

Someone posted a note in early March saying everything in one man's home was free for the taking because the man was moving out of the country.

The man wasn't actually moving, though, and came home to find people hauling away his stuff.

Now police have found that the people who created the post were trying to cover up an earlier theft at the victim's home, police said.

Amber and Brandon Herbert stole a pair of saddles from the victim's home a few days before the posting, police said.

They're now facing charges for burglary, theft and computer crimes.
