PORTLAND, Ore. -- Airport officials said a traveler who had measles flew from Amsterdam to Seattle and then to Portland International Airport on March 26.The woman flew back to Amsterdam from PDX three days later. The Multnomah County Health Department said it hasn't confirmed any other cases but is taking the proper precautions."There can be complications including encephalitis, pneumonia, severe ear infections, so it's not a pleasant disease, and it's not a minor disease," said Dr. Gary Oxman of the Multnomah County Health Department.
Public health officials are asking people who flew in or out of PDX on the days that the infected traveler was there to watch for warning signs. If you think you may have the measles, you should call your health care provider for instructions.
