Hollywood filmmakers were hard at work Tuesday in Portland, shooting the movie "Twilight."

The movie is about a teenage girl who falls in love with a vampire and is based on the best-selling book series by Stephenie Meyer.

The book is set in Forks, Wash., but filmmakers are re-creating the small Olympic peninsula town around the Portland area.

Filmmakers have been shooting in Kalama, Wash., St. Helens and Portland over the past several weeks.

On Tuesday, they filmed a scene at Corbett's Viewpoint Inn in the Columbia River Gorge.

The film stars Kristen Stewart, who also appeared in "Panic Room" and "Into The Wild," as Bella.

Robert Pattinson, who starred in two "Harry Potter" movies, plays the vampire Edward Cullen in "Twilight."

He said he has enjoyed spending the past few months in the Portland area.

"I normally get bored of a city in three weeks," Pattinson said. "(But) I really, really like Portland, it's an interesting place, a medium-sized place."

Twilight is scheduled to open in theaters on Dec. 12.
