Two men checked into a hospital with gunshot wounds that appear to be gang-related, police said.

Two 18-year-old black males walked into Emanuel hospital with gunshot wounds at about 12:27 a.m., police said.

One was wounded in the ankle and the other in the buttocks, both were non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they believe the shooting may have happened at or near a dance that was happening in the 700 block of Northeast Dekum.

Both victims were uncooperative with investigators, one of the victims bolted from the hospital while investigators were speaking with the victim's mother, police said.

One victim is a documented gang member and investigators from the Gang Violence Response Team have iniated the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Mitch Hergert and Detective Brad Clifton at 503-823-4106.

The investigation is continuing.
