An alcohol sting involving underage decoys revealed a rise in the number of stores that sold alcohol to minors, according to an organization aimed at keeping minors from drinking.

Oregon Partnership said out of the 71 establishments put to the test Friday 20 of them sold alcohol to people younger than 21.

That's about 28 percent of the stores, bars and restaurants decoys visited.

Organizers said that number is up by 3 percent from February's compliance checks and the highest rate yet during the past year.

Employees who sell alcohol to minors face possible jail time and fines.

Businesses may also be penalized.
