The rain and clouds lured Hollywood to Oregon, but the gloomy weather caused a delay on the set of the movie "Twilight" on Tuesday.

The new vampire movie was shooting near Oregon City on Tuesday and filmmakers were hoping for a bit more sunshine.

Despite the weather not cooperating, the people behind "Twilight" said Oregon has been a great place to shoot and they're almost ready to wrap.

"We needed the Pacific Northwest," said producer Greg Mooradian. "The geography is definitely a part of our story. The reason why this coven of vampires has chosen to live in the Pacific Northwest is because of the lack of sunlight."

"Twilight" is based on the best-selling book series by Stephenie Meyer. It's about a romance between a teenage girl and a vampire living in Washington's Olympic peninsula, where it's rarely sunny.

Producers said they plan to finish shooting in Oregon on Friday.

"Twilight" is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 12.
