PORTLAND, Ore. -- Clues provided by witnesses helped police track down a hit-and-run suspect Friday in southeast Portland.Philip Freimann is accused of hitting 62-year-old Samuel Grammer at Southeast 28th Avenue and Powell Boulevard at about 3 a.m. Police said Freimann drove off in his van after the crash.Witnesses spotted a bumper sticker from the band "The Who" that had been placed on the back of the van. They also saw a window on the van had been covered in duct tape.Those two clues helped police track down the Dodge van parked in the 1600 block of Southeast Stark Street. Freimann lived at a nearby apartment and surrendered peacefully, officers said.Grammer was rushed to Oregon Health & Science University by paramedics. He suffered severe head and back injuries, but he's expected to survive.Freimann was taken into custody on charges of felony hit-and-run and reckless driving.
