TUALATIN, Ore. -- A Burger King restaurant was robbed by masked bandits for the second time in as many months, police said.Restaurant employees told officers that a man and a woman dressed in black hoodies with their faces covered by bandanas broke one of the glass doors and entered a little after 1 a.m. Friday, police said.The man, who was armed with a hammer, and woman, who had a black handgun, confronted employees and stole more than $700 in cash, then forced two employees into the freezer, police said.The robbers ran out of the Burger King and no vehicle was seen by the employees who were left in the freezer, police said.
Officers responded to the Tualatin Burger King at about 1:20 a.m., contained the area and searched for the robbers with a K-9 unit but didn't find them, police said.The woman was described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall armed with a black handgun and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black beanie, dark pants and a black bandana over her face at the time of the robbery, police said.The man was described as large, armed with a hammer and also dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, a dark-colored cap, dark pants with a black bandana over his face, police said.The man spoke both Spanish and English during the robbery, police said.This same business was the location of another late night armed robbery April 14. Police weren't sure if the two incidents are connected.Anyone with information about the crime can call Tualatin police at 503-691-4813.
