ALBANY, Ore. -- A man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after a shooting that left a man severely wounded and nearly struck his 3-year-old son, police said.Police said Abram Delano, 27, knew the man who shot him at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.Delano was at the home of Gabriel Martinez, 29, early Saturday evening when the two men got into an argument, police said.After Delano left, Martinez showed up at his apartment with two relatives and a gun, police said.Delano and a relative went outside to confront Martinez when the man drew a handgun and chased Delano back into his apartment, police said.Martinez then fired about five shots at Delano hitting him multiple times and missing his 3-year-old son, who was sleeping nearby on a couch, by inches, police said.Delano's girlfriend was also in the apartment and ran into the kitchen during the shooting with her 1-year-old son, police said.Officers responded to the call about shots being fired to find Delano lying inside his apartment with several gunshot wounds, police said.Delano was taken to Samaritan Albany General Hospital and treated for his injuries, police said.Martinez was arrested at 6:40 a.m. Sunday when he returned home and was taken to the Linn County Jail where he was charged with attempted homicide, first-degree burglary, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.Anyone with information about this shooting can call the Albany Police Department at 541-917-7680.
