PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police are asking for help in finding the men responsible for an attack in an Old Town parking garage last summer.Sean Barron, 22, and his friends were walking back to their car on the third floor of a Smart Park garage when five men attacked them and left them bloodied.Barron said he still may have some nerve damage from the attack."It was, in every sense of the meaning, a random act of violence," Barron said. "And it's unforgivable. It's inexcusable, intolerable."
The attack left Barron, an economics student at the University of Oregon, hospitalized for a week with broken bones in his face, a collapsed lung and bleeding in his brain.Police said they have no suspects in the beating.The incident happened June 23, 2007, at about 1:50 a.m.Witnesses said the attackers were Asian and drove a black 2002 Acura CL sedan with Washington license plate of 994UDS. Police believe the attackers were involved in an earlier fight inside Barracuda's night club on Second Avenue.Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
