PORTLAND, Ore. -- Ralph Nader, independent candidate for president, announced that he is holding a campaign rally in Portland on Tuesday.According to Nader's release, he will speak and answer audience questions at Benson High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The requested donation for the rally is $10 at the door, $5 for students, but no one will be turned away, according to the release. The directors of Nader's campaign in Oregon said that some of the issues that Nader feels most strongly about are health care and the war in Iraq.
One of the co-directors of Nader's Oregon campaign Mark McDougal said Nader's platform represents a complete military and corporate withdrawal from Iraq, which includes withdrawing the 100,000 American mercenary contractors. The other co-director Gregory Kafoury said that Nader "supports a single-payer health system, full Medicare for all, while the others want to keep the insurance companies as major players."For more information about Nader's campaign, visit votenader.org.
