OAK HILLS, Ore. -- A man was charged with DUII after he rammed his truck into the back of a car, forcing it under a semitrailer Thursday, deputies said.Sheriff's deputies said they responded to the crash a little before 7 p.m. to find a Honda pinned between the two vehicles, police said. The driver of the Honda, Laura Hendricks, told police she saw white smoke coming from the rear of the pickup truck that had hit her and feared the vehicle may be on fire, deputies said.Hendricks went across the street to wait for help to arrive, deputies said.
The white smoke was created by the spinning wheels of the truck because Michael Decklar, of Aloha, still had his foot on the gas pedal, deputies said.Decklar ran into the Honda while it was stopped behind the semi-trailer at a traffic light, deputies said. The force of the impact wedged the car under the truck in front of it and lifted its rear tires off the ground, deputies said.Decklar was charged with DUII, reckless driving, reckless endangering and criminal mischief.Hendricks was taken to a hospital by a relative and suffered only minor injuries.Police: Driver Hits Honda, Wedging It Under Semi-Trailer
