Police: Woman Hit Walgreen's Worker With Car

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland police are seeking a woman accused of crashing her car into a Walgreen's employee after a shoplifting incident.Police said employees at the Walgreen's on North Lombard Street tried to stop a woman because of a theft at the store April 19.According to officers, Rosita Hammick, 58, didn't wait for police to arrive and hopped in a car driven by Cheryl Standifer.Police said Standifer peeled out of the parking lot, drove directly toward a Walgreen's employee and hit her. The victim hit the hood of the car and rolled off. She suffered injuries to her back and hip.
The car was found a short time later and Hammick was taken into custody.Standifer, meanwhile, remains wanted on charges of robbery, theft, assault and reckless endangerment, according to police.Standifer is described as black, 5 feet 4 inches tall and 140 pounds. She has short black hair and brown eyes.Police said she last lived on Northeast 18th Avenue in Portland.Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
