CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A helicopter crashed near the towers on Mary's Peak on Monday night, Benton County deputies said.

A woman reported the crash at 7:15 p.m. She told a dispatcher her son had seen two people walk away from the wreckage to a nearby campground to seek help.

Sgt. Jenna Morrison said the people aboard were treated at the scene and she did not know if they later went to a hospital. Their identities have not been released.

The helicopter was a rental from Hillsboro Aviation Inc. and was coming from Troutdale.
