UPDATED: 1:30 pm PDT June 25, 2008

An inmate took a jail worker hostage at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Oregon Department of Corrections officials said the corrections worker remained calm despite 40-year-old John Brown taking him hostage.

Corrections officers were able to resolve the incident peacefully and no injuries were reported.

Brown, who is serving a two-year sentence for a robbery in Multnomah County, will be taken to another corrections facility.

Because of the incident, the male intake center was on full lock-down status as of noon Wednesday. The female medium-security facility was on modified lock-down status.
