A man was arrested Tuesday by Oregon State Police on charges of selling stolen lottery tickets.

The Oregon State Police Lottery Gaming Section detectives arrested Lawrence Delano Temple, 50, from southeast Portland, on 49 counts of theft by receiving and lodged him at the Multnomah County Jail.

The lottery tickets involved were stolen during a burglary of a Rockaway Beach convenience store about a year ago, police said.

In August 2007, Rockaway Beach police investigated the burglary of a convenience store in which approximately 3,700 scratch-off tickets were stolen.

A follow-up investigation identified Temple as being involved in selling some of the stolen lottery tickets connected to the burglary that were submitted for redemption at lottery headquarters, investigators said.

Temple wasn't charged related to the burglary but was arrested after detectives served a search warrant at his residence.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact Detective Boyd at 541-265-5354 Ext. 236.
