PORTLAND, Ore. -- A ceremony was held to swear in the new -- and old -- Multnomah County Sheriff on Thursday.District Attorney Mike Schrunk swore in Bob Skipper as the new sheriff Thursday afternoon. That was followed by the swearing-in of a new undersheriff and two chief deputies. It's not the first time that Skipper has been the county's top cop. He was also Multnomah County Sheriff from 1989 to 1994."Having been sheriff once was quite an experience but to come around again to become sheriff the second time is, I guess, that much more," Skipper said.Skipper replaced Bernie Giusto, who retired early following a number of allegations of misconduct.Officials held a retirement ceremony for Giusto on Wednesday.
