A man was caught on camera burglarizing a home in Southeast Portland on Wednesday, police said.

Police said the homeowner, who had been a victim of a previous burglary, set up a surveillance camera in the home.

She came home to find tape of the burglar in her room taking jewelry, change and an iPod from her home in the 1900 block of 44th Avenue just after 3 p.m., police said.

The burglar is described as a black man between 18 and 24 years old, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds.

At the time of the theft, he was wearing a dark blue or black T-shirt, baggy blue jeans and white shoes, police said.

Officers said he was also carrying a blue folder, possibly to make him look like a door-to-door solicitor.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information can call 503-823-4357 or visit www.crimestoppersoforegon.com.
