Missing Alzheimer Patient Found In California

Marion County deputies were notified that an Alzheimer's patient missing from an assisted living center in Salem was found in Cottonwood, Calif.

William Mefford, 68, was last seen at the facility in the 4400 block of Lancaster Drive at 9 a.m. Monday.

Mefford hitchhiked from Salem to California where he grew up, some of Mefford's family said.

Family members were with Mefford in California and they described him as being in good health.
