VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A burglar stole computers and digital telephones from a business in Vancouver in late July, police said.A surveillance camera took video of the thief, who broke into the offices of Fritz Mechanical, stealing the electronic equipment at about 2:30 a.m. on July 23, Vancouver police said. The owners said the thief opened a front door that was left unlocked by a neighboring business then broke through their glass front door.Once inside, the burglar took his time and stole computers, phones, faxes, an Internet router and construction tools, the owners said.
They said they lost about $6,000 to $7,000 worth of equipment and in these hard times that's a loss they really couldn't afford."We're at the market now where anybody is barely making a profit. We're all just trying to pay the bills. So now we've got to replace all this stuff," co-owner of Fritz Mechanical John Fritz said. The man is described as white with brown hair and was wearing a green T-shirt, blue jeans and a tan jacket at the time of the theft, police said. The car that police said was associated with the thefts is a white or silver four-door sedan.Anyone with information about the possible identity of the thief or information about the car should contact Vancouver Police Officer Tyler Chavers at 360-487-7400 ext. 3068.Related: Police Say Burglar Stole Computers, Phones
