BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A 4-year-old boy fell from a second-story window at a Beaverton apartment complex Thursday morning.Firefighters said Angel Gonzalez fell at the Birnam West Apartments on Allen Boulevard. They said they found him conscious and alert when they arrived. An ambulance took him to Oregon Health & Science University to be treated.Family members said the child was playing a game in the upstairs of the two-story apartment when he leaned against an open window and tumbled to the ground below.
His siblings said his fall was broken by a tree outside the window and by the bark dust on the ground below.Angel's older sister and little brother rushed to the child when they heard him screaming and crying."He looked out the window, and he put his belly on the window, and then he fell out and scratched himself," Angel's sister, Crystal Gonzalez, said."Bark chips, he landed on them. If he didn't landed on them he'd be dead," Angel's brother, Sergio Gonzalez, said.
