BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Police asked for the public's help tracking down a man who allegedly fondled a child at a second-hand store last week.Police said a man sexually touched an 11-year-old girl while inside the Goodwill store on Northwest Cornell Road Aug. 10.Shoppers said they never thought to be concerned for theirs or their children's safety while at the store. On Thursday, shoppers at the Beaverton Goodwill said they're shocked that a little girl was attacked here."That's totally amazing that that can happen in a store like this that's so family-oriented," shopper Heather Krug said. The girl, who said she was touched inappropriately at about 6:15 p.m., and her mother reported the incident to the store staff and police. They said the man was a stranger to them."It's very scary. You can't let them out of your sight for a second because you never know who's around the corner," shopper Rosalie Roberts said.Roberts often shops with her granddaughter, Rowan, 10, and says she usually doesn't think about having to protect her.But at the same time Rowan said strangers terrify her."Well, I normally stay close whenever we're shopping because I'm a little nervous about what happens," Rowan Staley said. The victim helped police come up with a composite sketch of the man who touched her.A Goodwill representative said workers there don't recognize him, but the sketch has been distributed to all of their area stores in case he is a frequent shopper of Goodwill.Shoppers said the case is frightening but a good reminder to keep an eye on their children at all times...even in a goodwill store."With me having a 7-year-old, she's not out of my sight. Normally, I put her in the cart," Krug said.Police said the person who touched the girl is a white man about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build, between 30 and 50 years old with white or blonde hair, a white moustache and blue eyes.Beaverton police are asking anyone who recognizes the man to give them a call.
