A driver lost control of his car, crashed through a power pole and slammed into a Beaverton home Wednesday night.

Officials said the 52-year-old driver likely had a medical condition before he lost control at Southwest Cedar Hills Boulevard and Bunter Road. The power pole snapped in half upon impact.

Emergency crews had to remove the man from the car with the Jaws of Life, but he's expected to survive the crash.

No one inside the house was injured, but Lukmanto Chandra, who lives at the home, said he was startled by the crash.

"First, the brakes; second, the power pole snapped; third, my siding scratched; and then fourth, the gas meter down -- smashed also," Chandra said.

About 3,000 people lost power because of the crash, but it was restored within one hour.
