NEWPORT, Ore. -- Four boogie boarders were rescued from a cliff near Newport on Saturday.Coast Guard officials said two men and two women wound up on a cliff near Devil's Punchbowl State Park after they were pulled out to sea by a riptide. The riptide eventually carried them to the cliff, officials said.Strong winds made it dangerous for the boogie boarders to paddle back to shore, leading the Coast Guard to call in a helicopter crew from North Bend. The helicopter took the four boogie boarders to shore and the Coast Guard then drove them to their vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
