Deputies said they arrested a man on drug charges after they found about 4,000 pills of Ecstasy in a secret compartment of his car during a traffic stop.

Deputy Paul McRedmond of the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said that more than two pounds of ecstasy was wrapped in a diaper and hidden in a specially modified center console compartment.

Deputies stopped Alonso Ramirez-Sanchez, 21, in a blue Chevy Tahoe with California license plates on Interstate 205 for traffic violations, and he agreed to allow them to search his vehicle, McRedmond said.

During the search, deputies found the drugs and arrested Ramirez-Sanchez on charges of possession and distribution of Ecstasy, McRedmond said.

Ramirez-Sanchez was also being held on an immigration hold for being in the country illegally, McRedmond said.
