BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A man was arrested Thursday and accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl, police said.

Police arrested Jose Rosales-Morales, and Friday he was in jail on $250,000 bail.

Rosales-Morales is accused of first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse, police said.

Beaverton police said he abused a young girl sometime between March and November of last year while he was living with the girl and her mother.

The mother and daughter have since moved to another state where the girl revealed the sexual abuse, police said.

The girl also told police that Rosales-Morales had threatened to hurt her mom if she ever said anything to anyone.

Rosales-Morales' last-known address was on Southwest Franklin Avenue in Beaverton.

A woman at the apartment said she doesn't know Rosales-Morales or anything about the sex abuse charges.

Neighbors said it's a disgusting crime.

"I think that's pretty messed up because nobody should be doing that," neighbor Javier Esquivel said. "If that happened to my sister, I would be mad, really mad."

Beaverton police said Rosales-Morales doesn't have a record of other crimes.
