Clackamas County deputies said a thief with a taste for high-tech toys was caught on camera taking video games.

Detectives said the man walked into a Target store and walked out with six Nintendo Wii video games.

That's about $300 worth of merchandise.

Deputies said the thief went into the Target on Sunnyside Road at about 5:45 p.m.

No one confronted him, and the shoplifter made it out to the parking lot with the loot.

Shoppers said it could be connected to the bad economy but they doubt it.

"(There) has been shoplifting for many years, and sometimes I think kids do it for the joy of doing it or for the peer pressure because their friends have the games and they want the games. So it's hard to say," a Target shopper named Andria said.

Deputies said the thief is around 20 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, has deep dark circles under his eyes and was driving a silver Toyota Corolla.

Anyone with information about the theft should call the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
