OREGON CITY, Ore. -- Police arrested three men Wednesday morning in connection with the beating death of a man outside a pub on Halloween night.Officers arrested James Stafford, 27, Charles Scoggins, 24, and Nathaniel Entriken, 23, on a charge of manslaughter and a grand jury will determine if more charges will be brought when it convenes next week, Lt. Lisa Nunes said.Michael Carey was found dead in a yard near Midway Pub on Saturday morning and an autopsy the next day revealed that he was beat to death, Nunes said. One of Carey's friends, Patrick Hallinan, 34, also suffered injuries in the fight and was treated and released at Willamette Falls Hospital, Nunes said.Police said that Carey and Hallinan were about half a block away from the bar after it closed when they were attacked in the front yard of a home on Seventh Street by the three men.The investigation showed that Carey's death was caused by the fight, Nunes said.Oregon City detectives said they're still looking for the driver of a dark-colored SUV that was seen on surveillance video passing by the fight location, making a U-turn and pulling up within feet of the spot, Nunes said. Investigators would like to speak to the driver of the SUV to ask what they saw.
