PORTLAND, Ore. -- A carjacker attacked a woman and stole her BMW at a southeast Portland gas station Sunday. The incident occurred at the Pacific Pride Gas Station on Southeast Seventh Avenue and Alder Street. The woman said she had just finished getting gas when a man walked up and grabbed her. She said he pulled her out of the car, jumped in and then drove away. The victim did not want to be identified, but she told FOX 12 on camera that she thinks the man targeted her because she was driving an expensive car and was the only woman there."It wasn't dark outside. It wasn't an inconspicuous place. You could see, it was in broad daylight," she said. "Cars were driving by, people were walking around. And I just didn't understand why. Why would you do that to anybody? It totally ruins your life."
A witness called 911 after the carjacking. The witness allowed the woman into his truck and they chased the carjacker through southeast Portland until he got away. The stolen car is a 2003, two-door, black BMW 330 CI with Oregon license plate No. 209 BZX. It has tinted windows and a University of Oregon sticker in the rear passenger window. The victim said the man was white, between 30 and 35 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and heavy-set. He had spiky, brown hair and wore dark, dirty clothes, she said.Anyone with information is asked to call Portland police.
