Two people have been arrested in connection with the violent beating of a Tigard man, deputies said Tuesday.

Deputies took Matthew Johansen into custody Sunday on a number of outstanding warrants.

On Tuesday afternoon, detectives said they found another suspect in the case, Jamie Sweany, in a Vancouver home. They then arrested her on on a fugitive from justice warrant.

Johansen and Sweany are accused of visiting a Tigard home in October in response to a Craigslist ad. Once inside, police said, they beat the victim with a handgun and then tied him up with tape and plastic ties.

Tigard police said the attackers stole the man's wallet and cell phone and then drove away in his pickup truck, which was later found near Mary Woodward Elementary School.

The nature of the Craigslist ad has not been released by police.

Neighbors said the victim knocked on their door pleading for help and was so badly beaten he left behind a pool of blood.

Police said the man is now out of the hospital and doing OK.

Johansen and Sweany are currently being held at the Clark County Jail.
