Police: 143 Pounds Of Ecstasy Seized

About 250,000 Pills Found In State's Biggest Seizure Ever

Police announced their largest Ecstasy seizure ever on Wednesday where they found about 143 Pounds of Ecstasy during a traffic stop on Interstate 5.

A trooper pulled over a 1996 Ford Thunderbird with Washington state plates for a traffic violation and identified the driver as Pedro Moya Gonzalez, 55, from California at about noon on Saturday, police said.

An investigation by a Washington County Sheriff's Office drug K-9 unit discovered an estimated 250,000 tablets of Ecstasy, another name for MDMA, concealed in the car worth approximately $2 million, police said.

Gonzalez was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession and distribution of a controlled substance and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.
