PORTLAND, Ore. -- A Portland man who interrupted a burglary at his home was punched in the face by the man responsible Wednesday.Linh Dau said he returned home near Northeast 156th Avenue and Halsey Street at about 4:30 p.m."And when I went home and opened the door, I was like 'Boom, boom' punched in the face," Dau said.Bruised and battered with a black eye and bleeding lip, Dau went to a neighbor for help. The neighbor called 911.Before police arrived, the attacker took off and left Dau with a mess to clean up. He said the burglar tore through his house and stole electronics and tax information."He took a bunch of my stuff," Dau said. "He took my laptop … He just ransacked the whole house."Aside from the stolen items, Dau said the attacker stole his sense of security."This neighborhood is safe, but somehow after today, I don't feel safe anymore," Dau said.Dau said the home invasion scared him so much that he's considering moving his family to a new area.He said he didn't get a good look at the attacker and was unable to provide a description to police."Today has just really thrown me off," Dau said of the burglary and attack. "It has just like totally changed my perspective on things."
