JEFFERSON, Ore. -- Deputies said they arrested a man on kidnapping charges after he forced his girlfriend and three children into his car using what turned out to be a BB gun Sunday night.Marion County sheriff's deputies responded to a call at a house in the 300 block of Main Street in Jefferson at about 11 p.m. about a man with a gun and arrested Miguel Serratos-Jimenez, 29, of Woodburn, Lt. Sheila Lorance said.Serratos went to Jefferson and forced his girlfriend and her three children to get into his car at gunpoint, Lorance said. The victim told Serratos that one of the children had to go to the bathroom and was able to get out of the car with two of her children but had to leave one child in the car with Serratos, Lorance said.
The girlfriend went into a neighbor's house, called 911 and locked the door, Lorance said. After waiting for a few minutes, Serratos went to the neighbor's house and began pounding on the door and demanding that his girlfriend come out, Lorance said.Deputies then arrived, surrounded the house and arrested Serratos as he tried to drive away with the one child still in his car, Lorance said. The weapon Serratos was using was then identified as a BB gun and he was arrested on charges of kidnapping, menacing, reckless endangering and possession of methamphetamine, Lorance said.
