Motorcycle Officer Injured In Crash

A motorcycle officer was involved in a crash on Southwest Sagert Street Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The officer went off the road at the corner of Southwest Sagert Street and 93rd Avenue a little after 3:15 p.m., police said.

Two 911 callers reported seeing the officer go off the road and hit a tree, which sent him flying through the air, police said.

It was unclear whether the officer was hit by a vehicle first or just lost control, but police said another vehicle was involved in some way.

The extent of the officer's injuries was unclear but, but police said he was alert, conscious and breathing while he was being treated at the scene by Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue before being taken to OHSU hospital.
