TIGARD, Ore. -- A clerk at a Tigard cell phone store came face to face with a gunman Friday.Police said a man tried to hold up a Cricket Wireless Store in the 12000 block of Southwest Pacific Highway. The clerk said a man held a gun to his head and demanded cash, but the clerk called his bluff and the attempted robber ran off.Jesus Morga said he held his ground despite having a silver handgun pointed at him. He said he told the man he didn't have access to the store's cash and that the gunman eventually became frustrated.
"You just hope to God nothing happens, that it doesn't go to the next level," Morga said. "Like I said, enough is enough and that's probably what was going through my mind. I was like, 'Nope, you are not going to get the money,' and that's what it was."A few days earlier and less than a half-mile away, an armed robber tried to hold up a Taco Bell, but they left empty-handed as well. Police have released a sketch of one of the robbers, who was described as Hispanic and in his early 20s.Morga said the sketch and the man who robbed Cricket Wireless weren't a match."I could only see from the eyes up and I didn't see any glasses on him or anything, so that doesn't look familiar to me," he said. It's unclear if police believe both cases are related. Anyone with information is asked to call the Tigard Police Department.
