Fake $20s Used At Starbucks, Jiggles

Police haven't said whether the fake $20 bills used at a coffee shop and strip club are connected.

Tualatin police responded to a call about a fake $20 bill being used at Starbucks at 7131 SW Nyberg Road at about noon Tuesday.

Workers there said that the bill was used by a regular customer.

Starbucks employees said the customer paid for items with a counterfeit $20 bill. He was described as a white man, 5 feet 8 inches tall in his late 30s to early 40s with short brown hair, wearing jeans and a shirt.

The employee said she was uncomfortable with confronting the customer, but knew immediately that the $20 bill was counterfeit, because of the way it felt. The employee also pointed out to officers that another $20 bill was used to pay for items the day before.

Officers said the serial numbers of the two $20 bills were the same, but they weren't able to find the man who paid with the bills.

At about 6:30 pm the same day, an officer responded to another report of counterfeit $20 bills being passed at Jiggles, at 7455 SW Nyberg Road, in Tualatin.

Officers said they learned that three $20 bills were used to pay for lap dances.

A Jiggles employee said she discovered the bills were counterfeit when she was counting her money and the bills were glowing under the black light. She checked the bills with a counterfeit detection pen and confirmed that they weren't real.

The employee said the customer who used the bills was a white man, 25 to 29 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with black hair, dark eyes, olive skin and was wearing jeans and a sweater with a collar. She said the man is a regular customer.

Officers said the serial numbers on all three $20 bills were the same, but different than the serial numbers on the fake bills used in the Starbucks.
