A person of interest in a Longview murder case was taken into custody Saturday at a Portland motel.

William Reagan, 51, of Longview, and his girlfriend, Victoria Gatti, were arrested on drug charges at a motel on Sandy Boulevard.

Cowlitz County authorities said Reagan is a person of interest in the death of Jeremy McLean, whose body was found by a fisherman in the Columbia River on New Year's Eve.

After his body was discovered and deputies investigated, the sheriff's office released an "attempt to locate" on Reagan and Gatti's car to neighboring law enforcement agencies. A Portland police officer found the car at the northeast Portland motel on Sunday morning.

A Special Emergency Response Team then took Reagan and Gatti into custody without incident.

Authorities said further charges against Reagan are expected. Detectives said he didn't act alone and that more persons of interest have been identified and more arrests are pending.

Sheriff's deputies still haven't released the results of an autopsy performed on McLean, whose parents reported him missing two days before his body was found.

Anyone with a tip may call Cowlitz County Crime Stoppers at 360-577-1206.
