PORTLAND, Ore. -- An accused "credit card predator" was taken into custody Tuesday night at the Jantzen Beach Red Lion Hotel.Portland police officers arrested Noelle McDonald on a charge of failing to appear in court, but Clackamas County sheriff's deputies said she was also wanted on five counts of identity theft.McDonald's alleged victims said she took advantage of an act of kindness and used their personal information to illegally open credit cards.Mike Vorpahl said he allowed McDonald to stay at his home last year. Vorpahl said McDonald collected his sister's personal information in the mail and then used it to open credit cards illegally."There's nothing worse than explaining (it) -- you did not make these purchases (and) they're like, 'Yeah right,'" Vorpahl said.Police took McDonald into custody at the hotel's restaurant bar. McDonald worked at the bar, which is not owned by the hotel.Sabrina Walters, who said she's one of McDonald's victims, said McDonald also took advantage of her kindness."It breaks my heart because I am always out to help people and that's wrong," Walters said. "You ask me to help people and there is nothing I wouldn't do for a lot of people."Vorpahl, who calls McDonald a "credit card predator," said he testified against her in front of a grand jury.McDonald was being held at the Multnomah County Jail on Wednesday night.
