A Beaverton woman crashed her car into the front window of her neighbor's home Monday.

Deputies arrived to find a Subaru Forester stuck halfway in the living room of a home in Cedar Hills at 225 SW 142nd Ave. at about 12:30 p.m.

Deputies said they learned that Shirley Battilega, 62, was backing the car out of the driveway next door and thought she had the car in drive when it was still in reverse.

Battilega accelerated quickly with the wheel turned causing the Subaru Forester to fly backward through her neighbor's front living room window, deputies said.

The woman was stuck in the car until rescue workers were able to arrive and remove her, deputies said. There were two people in the home when the car crashed into it but neither was injured.

Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue workers had to shore up the walls because there was structural damage to the house.

No citations were issued in the crash, deputies said.
