Police said they arrested all three people who were involved in the robbery of a market where a shot was fired on Tuesday.

Gresham police began an investigation Tuesday into the robbery of La Tapatia Market at 18330 SE Stark St. that led them to arrest Lindsen L. Charles, 36, and Erica C. Perez, 32, in connection with the crime.

The first suspect was taken into custody as soon as officers arrived because employees of the store followed the 17-year-old into the back loading area and disarmed and tackled him after he used a shotgun to fire a shot at them, police said.

The teen was arrested on charges of first-degree robbery with a firearm and attempted murder.

Charles and Perez were found and arrested as they tried to drive away from a home in Fairview, police said. Capt. Timothy Gerkman said the other two suspects were captured quickly because witnesses gave very accurate descriptions, allowing officers to move quickly.

Police said Charles was the other gunman in the robbery and he was arrested on charges of first-degree robbery with a firearm. Police said he had a prior conviction for bank robbery.

Officers said Perez was the getaway driver in the robbery and was also arrested on a charge of first-degree robbery with a firearm.

The teenager's name will not be released because of his age, police said.

The robbery was next to a field holding a summer soccer camp, sending it into lockdown.
