VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Racist vandals left a hurtful message near a high school student's home on Saturday.Shamarica Scott, a 16-year-old junior at Fort Vancouver High School, discovered her name and a racist slur spray-painted across the middle of her street in the Truman neighborhood of Vancouver.Scott said she has no idea who could be behind the hate crime because she has no enemies. She also said the only thing she focuses on is her basketball team at Fort Vancouver High School. In addition to the graffiti on the street, vandals also covered a neighbor's boat with swastikas and other racial slurs.Scott said she remains baffled about why anyone would leave the racist messages."Part of me is angry. What did I do? Another part of me wonders -- we're the only black family in the neighborhood," Scott said. "What else will they do?"Clark County deputies took several reports of vandalism in the area over the weekend. They said they're investigating the incident but have no suspects.
